At Sediba Nkwe Hunting Safari’s it’s all about the customer so each hunt is planned to suit the hunter and non-hunting observer’s personal requirements.

 

Bow Hunting

Hunting is typically done for one of our many deferent blinds, ranging from traditional African pit blinds to strategically placed tree stands to get you in the right place at the right time.

 

Plains Game (recommendations)

 

Recurve – 60 lbs. min

Compound – 60 lbs. min

Broad heads – 100g min fix blade

Total arrow weight – 400 grain min

 

Dangerous Game (recommendations)

 

Recurve – 95 lbs. min

Compound – 80 lbs. min

Broad heads – 100g min two blade

Total arrow weight – 850 grain min

 

Rifle Hunting

We prefer to use one of our hunting vehicles until we spot the trophy we after and if a shot is not presented we will attempt a stalk depending on the wind and terrain we are in. Hunting over watering holes in one of the rifle stands is also a very popular option.

 

A .30 caliber rifle, with a 3 to 9 variable scope and a min of 160gr high-quality soft nose cartridge on all plains game is recommended. For dangerous game, a .375 or bigger with a compact scope is recommended. For the Big Cat species we recommend a soft nose, Cape Buffalo high-quality soft nose cartridges as well as some solids and for Elephant, Rhino and Hippo we only use solids.

 

always use a rifle you know and have used in the past. The best rifle is the one you are comfortable with.

And if you don’t want the hassle of getting through the airport with your rifle you are welcome to rent one of our many rifles in camp.

 

Hunting Season

 

We hunting throughout the year, however for rifle hunting we recommend months of March through November and for bow hunting, we will recommend the months of June through October.

 

High and Low temperatures usually range from:

65°F to 90°F – March/April/September/October/November

40°F to 80°F – May/Jun/July/August
